Contractor Programs
Companies have responsibility and associated liability related to the management of contractors and subcontractors. Pozniak Safety Associates Inc. can either assist “the Company” with the development of their contractor program or assist the “Contractor” in your program, and achieving and maintaining your Pre-Qualification.
Specialized companies, such as ISNetworld, PICS, CanQual and Browz, provide owner clients a third party collection of data to facilitate contractor compliance with specific requirements. This is completed through the collection and verification of the safety, procurement, quality and regulatory information from contractors and suppliers. This type of contractor pre-qualification offers an added level of due diligence and is achieved through compliance record management and reporting integrity.
PSAI facilitates this process through focused and strategic Safety Management System development and can also provide population of the data into the specific third party platform. This can be very expedient due to PSAI’s expertise and experience in both these areas. We have clients who have found it advantageous to have PSAI maintain and update their data to ensure they reap the biggest return and opportunity from the pre-qualification companies’ offerings with minimal usage of internal resources.
An additional pre-qualification requirement or condition of contract is the attainment of a Certificate of Recognition (COR) through the development of knowledge and tools to reduce incidents and their associated human and financial costs. A structured approach to Safety Management is required through the development and implementation of a Safety Management System that meets a standardized criteria. This is in addition to passing an audit of the SMS by objectively measuring and determining how effectively the company has implemented and complied with the SMS. PSAI has assisted clients with both the attainment and the maintenance of the SMS to ensure no lapse in COR status occurs.
Based on our extensive experience in the knowledge-based area of international Occupational Health and Safety legislation, we are experiencing increased requests from National and International companies to conduct GAP analysis on and subsequent amendments to existing Safety Management Systems. This can be conducted to meet jurisdictional requirements in regions where companies may be targeting or bidding for expanded business opportunities. In addition we provide assistance with the implementation of the program elements that may require future additional jurisdictional considerations i.e. other provinces, territories or countries.
OH&S Strategic Planning
Occupational Health and Safety Strategic Planning provides a planned, documented and quantifiable approach for the comprehensive and systematic management of OH&S business planning and continuous improvement.
We function from the belief that a strategy is a solution to move from where you are now (A) to where you want to be (B)…or put another way, it is what you want to happen to achieve an end.
A plan is how you will move from (A) to (B). As such it should support your strategy by providing a way to reach (B) that provides an acceptable balance of risk and reward. So your strategy is what you want to do and your plan is how you will do it.
We utilize a process that integrates OH&S with operational activities, while remaining sufficiently flexible and responsive to meet changing demands and environments and encompasses the areas of leadership, behaviour, incident prevention, management and OHS data analysis and supporting risk management processes.
